Boerne Market Days fills Main Plaza the second full weekend of each month with more than 100 craft and food vendors, drawing about 3,500 visitors per weekend and more around the holidays. Here is what to expect, when the 2026 dates fall, and how to make a morning of it.
A monthly tradition on Main Plaza
Boerne Market Days runs the second full weekend of every month, February through December, on Main Plaza at 100 N. Main St. in the heart of downtown Boerne. Hours are Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., per the official Market Days page from organizers Events Off Main.
The event has been around a long time: the San Antonio Express-News reported in 2020 that it had been going for 22 years, which puts the launch around 1998, so the 2026 season is roughly its 27th or 28th year.
The numbers that matter
The organizer promotes more than 100 craft booths and food vendors each weekend, per the vendor page. Average attendance runs about 3,500 people per weekend, climbing to about 4,500 for the November and December holiday editions, when extra market days spin up.
- Saturday is the busier day; Sunday morning is the calmest window.
- 100+ vendors means something for everyone: handmade goods, baked treats, local food, and live music.
- The holiday editions in November and December draw the biggest crowds, so go early.
The 2026 dates
The 2026 season runs February 7-8, March 14-15, April 11-12, May 9-10, June 13-14, July 11-12, August 8-9, September 12-13, October 10-11 (the next one up), November 7-8, and December 12-13, with the city of Boerne tracking the full schedule.
While you are there: the Hill Country Mile
Main Plaza sits on the Hill Country Mile, the roughly 1.1-mile historic district along Main Street that the American Planning Association named a 2019 Great Place in Texas, and that Country Living placed on its list of America's Top 25 Small Town Main Streets, per Visit Boerne. Expect 80+ shops, galleries, and restaurants, many in limestone buildings from the 1800s.
Pair the market with a walk of the Old No. 9 Trail, a fully paved 1.4-mile path along Cibolo Creek that starts minutes from the plaza, and you have a full morning in one small town.
A newcomer's honest take
Market weekends are Boerne doing what Boerne does best: slow, friendly, and walkable. If you are comparing Boerne against a big master-planned community on the north side of San Antonio, a market Saturday is a low-stakes way to feel the difference before you ever tour a house.
