A three-day, family-friendly tradition around Father's Day weekend at the Kendall County Fairgrounds and Herff Park, honoring Boerne's German heritage with a Main Street parade, food, live music, and family activities. It started as an ice-cream social in 1967 and has grown into the town's annual homecoming.
Wurstfest, November (New Braunfels)
A ten-day salute to sausage on the banks of the Comal River, celebrating German and Texas heritage with sausage, beer, polka and Alpine-style music, dancing, and carnival rides. It is roughly 40 to 45 minutes from San Antonio and a deservedly famous Hill Country tradition.
Dickens on Main, late November (Boerne)
On the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, Boerne's Hill Country Mile becomes a vintage Christmas village: snow, carolers, an ice-carving show, an ice slide for kids, free children's crafts, and Santa, with food trucks and vendors on Main Street.
